On November first
Nanowrimo is starting
I am excited!
Here is a challenge
To anyone who reads this
Come and join the group
Here's what you achieve
A sense of accomplishment
Fifty-thousand words
My first novella
Don't know what to write about
I'm kind of nervous
I'm telling myself
To just take a leap of faith
It will come out fine
Even if it sucks
No one has to read my book
So no need to stress
I am now stressing
On a different topic
Innocent blunder
Can't really say much
Hope no one is offended
I am embarrassed
I'm transitioning
To another subject now
I'm thinking of one....
Eileen, you're so cool
Thanks for showing me haikus
Forgot them from school
There I go again
Trying to rhyme my haikus
The words cool and school
It's nasty outside
It's been raining cats and dogs
So goes the saying
Just one more haiku
So that I can put closure
And finish this post

Jason and Gene
(You can click picture to enlarge)
I've never been into the band, KISS, but Jason and Dylan love them because their dad has always been a Kiss fanatic. I'll post Dylan's picture with him as soon as I figure out how to make my scanner communicate with my PC. Or I should say re-communicate.
:)Even I got caught up in the excitement when he was at the mall.

Haiku on my blog
Inspiration from Eileen
So satisfying
Why am I tempted
To try to rhyme my haikus?
Not the way it's done
So many topics
Trying to balance them out
Is time consuming
I will get better
I keep thinking I have it
Then see I've done six
Can you believe that
Christmas is eight weeks away?
Need to start shopping
Speaking of shopping
The other day at the mall
We met Gene Simmons
I will post pictures
Of Jason, Dylan, and Gene
As soon as I scan
I'm having trouble
Scanning pics on my scanner
Very frustrating
Abbreviating
Is a good way to acheive
The proper meter
Gene Simmons from Kiss
Coming to a mall near you
Promoting cologne
Just looked at the time
Can't believe I am still up

Denise from Just Thinkin' suggested that I should participate in Nanowrimo next month.
Nanowrimo ?
So I googled it. Went to the site. Read about it. Thought about it.
And I'm going to do it. Let me rephrase that. I'm going to make a sincere attempt. I hope I'll have the stamina it will take to accomplish. I think it will be a fun and stimulating challenge.

Once apon a time
in a land far far away,
there lived a 36 year old female,
who sat,
attempting to type at her computer,
wondering what in the world she could write about.
She felt it was the natural time
to update on her blog,
but...
she felt decidedly uninspired,
and after several attempts
that led
nowhere,
she somehow
decided to remove herself
from the immediate narrative
of a topic
and write something
in the third person
to see if this would help.
It didn't.

Well, I've been tagged once again-this time Anamika tagged me. I shall comply. Here goes:
What is the best thing about my workplace?
Freedom, flexibility of running our own business.
What do I hate about my workplace?
Occasionally unstimulating, sometimes stressful.
What small irritants at my workplace really annoy me?
See above.
Describe the actions/quirks of the weirdest person I work with (can be a co-worker, employer, or a vendor if you are self employed): Some of the people we deal with are total asses, but of course we have to $deal$ with them....... One, in particular, calls incessantly about absolutely nothing important, except that it makes them feel important. Almost not worth the money we make. Almost.
What is one thing that I would change at my workplace to make life a helluva lot better?
Nothing, really.
Pick five songs that I'd like played at my funeral......
OMG --this question is totally out of left field. Not something I've ever pondered, and I'm way too sleepy to answer seriously.
1. Knocking on Heaven's Door---who sings that?
2. I Can See Clearly Now
3. Somewhere Only We Know---Keane
4. LOL Another One Bites the Dust.
5. Time Of Your Life-Green Day

I went to Whole Foods today and am still feeling that
"accomplished something good for myself and my family" feeling that I get whenever I shop there. Now I must be disciplined, cook at home and quit eating out. Actually eat the fresh fruit, the vegetables, the organic yogurt, etc. One thing I found today, that I'm completely excited about is called twist --described as simply pure water with a twist of juice. I just tried Marion Berry flavor. I really like it.
All natural, delicious, and 10 calories per serving. (40 for the whole 30 OZ. bottle)
I also got HINT, which I haven't tried yet, which is an all natural flavored water that I got in Rasberry Lime. 0 calories!!!!! :)
They also have cucumber flavor. Um.. no, thank you.

You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained |
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning. Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others. If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic. Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet. The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility. Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way. If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art. Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports. |
Figures. No wonder I'm so fickle.

I shopped today at my Utopian Makeup Center, otherwise known as Sephora .
Lip dye. Trying it out. Better applicator than the other lip stain that I like.
OJON Hair Treatment---Came as part of an ensemble travel pack of Ojon hair care products. I can't wait to try it. I love their shampoo and conditioner.
I tried these cleansing cloths and they're great.
Atlanta Princess, on my links at the sidebar-(Lennox Miller) aspiring actress/model and the person who introduced me to Sephora recommended this and it's awesome. Better than the one I featured on here before. This and Definicils by Lancome are my favorites.

From the Radio Free Kirkoplis School of Fine Photograpy which Kirk established out of boredom. Somehow I feel like announcing the release date of my new CD.

We were at a restaurant today, passing time with off the wall topics while waiting for our food to arrive.
One theme that always seems to reoccur is- "Would you do ______________ for a million dollars? 5 million? 10?" We try to come up with the scariest, grossest, and most outrageous questions.
Today, Dylan said: "Would you cut off your leg for 10 million dollars?"
Me: "No way. You?"
Dylan: "Yes."
Me: "There is no way! Ridiculous! Really?
Dylan: "Yeah. I'd just buy a prosthetic one with my money."
Me: "Okay, how about left over pain of the amputation, never doing extreme sports again, no wall climbing, running fast--"
Dylan interrupts: "Yeah....no way. Nevermind."
Rickey joins in: "How about a finger? I would."
(he later elaborates that it would have to be for more than a million, more like 10 and only give up his little finger)
Dylan said he would. I said maybe for 10 mil.
I said: "Okay, what about your ear?"
Rickey: "Nope."
Me: "It won't affect your hearing at all, you can get a realistic looking fake one, and you can grow your hair out."
Rickey: "No."
Me: "You're kidding! You would chop off your finger, but not your ear?" (as if he should be logical here)
Food comes. Game ends. Final results: Dylan and I would chop off our ear. No one would give up their leg. And Rickey and Dylan easily giving up a finger.
What about you???? :)

Previous one or the new one. No other choices of me until I lose weight. And even then I'll turn it into a coloring book photo to be more anonymous.
I tried to with the profile pic I'm using now, but it looked too light.
Here's a new one with my Matrix style sunglasses that I enabled the cartoon effect.
from TMZ:
U2's Irish Tower
Bono and the boys are finally getting the ivory tower they deserve.
The Irish rock band is teaming up with Dublin, Ireland's Docklands Development Authority to create the U2 Tower. The 450 foot twisting tower will be the tallest structure in the city. The majority of the tower will consist of two-bedroom apartments expected to fetch upwards of $3 million each depending on the view.
But its the reason for the namesake of the tower that makes it special. At the top of the twisting building will be a penthouse and recording studio for the band. With their own special elevator from the ground floor to their studio, the band will be able to record while looking out over the sea and city.
The tower will bring new meaning to the band's hit song "Vertigo."
I think I want to live there. And I'm not even a big U2 fan.

I'M JUST SAYIN
Doesn't she look a little preggers to you? She's actually lost weight recently.
x17 says:
Here we go again!
Anyone want to take a guess as to what that mysterious womb-high bump Katie Holmes was spotted sporting at Tom's son's football game on Saturday might be? Or why it's suddenly showing up right when buzz is beginning to build about Katie taking Tom's name? Or where in the hell it came from in the first place, considering how captivatingly trim Katie's been looking lately?
And while I'm on the subject again, I want to point out that Tom and Katie have been photographed over and over again lately, soccer games, football games, public restaurants, Las Vegas, and more, but Suri is never out with them. Why not?

Ohhh man. I was on a popular site today that I really like and go to frequently, saw some pictures of the guy who does the blog, became amused and impulsively made a comment that I thought would be anonymous. I couldn't help but say that he looked like Gilligan from Gilligan's Island in those pics of him. Which he did, especially in the last two. When the comment posted, it had my name and homepage with no option to erase. eeeeeeeeek ugh. So, to this person, if you happen to stop by -which I doubt, but seeing as how you have my homepage info- I want to say sorry and no ill will intended. It was in fun. Really.
Actually, when I think about it, the whole concept of his blog is poking fun at celebrities. He posts plenty of embarrassing photos. How could he not have a sense of humor about this? :)
What states have you been to?
That's all of them. I need to get out more. It has to be by boat or car....'cause I'm not flying unless I have to.
