WORD OF THE DAY
Sanguineness .....
Sanguineness

I feel a certain amount of sanguineness at the arrival of 2007.
sanguineness has one meaning:
Meaning #1: feeling sanguine; optimistically cheerful and confident:
A tendency to expect a favorable outcome or to dwell on hopeful aspects

I am totally pleased with what Santa Rickey got me. He knows me so well he didn't get me some stuff from my list, but he got me awesome things I didn't even ask for. I am finally an official IPOD owner. So cool. NO Nintendo WII, but I got Dance Dance Revolution, which is a dance/workout video game. He got me a stuffed animal--a cat--from a place at the mall called Build-a-Bear. You put a heart and a recorded message in the animal at the store, and it gets a birth certificate and a house to take home in. He named it Princess P, which is a nickname he has for me and gave me a really sweet message. awwwwwww. :)
Gift card to Sephora :)
Revo Sunglasses :)
A beautiful perfume decanter set and mirror. Gorgeous!
Pair of shoes that goes with the IPOD--it takes a chip that records calories burned, stores your workout music.
We had a good day. Jason and his fiancée came by. It went well.

Merry Christmas to all and to all- Happy Tuesday tomorrow.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas ......

I'm ready.

Stockings are hung, stuffed full of stuffers.

Gifts are wrapped and under the tree.

This will be the first Christmas since 1987 that Jason won't be waking up here or at his Father's. He is engaged and will be over at her house for Christmas morning. He no longer lives at home whatsoever, and it has been a difficult adjustment for me, but I'm coping. We are going through a letting go phase, and at this point all I can express is that I'm okay with accepting of the way things are....

I just didn't expect to be such a small part of his life so soon...

Anyway, it's all good. He'll be by around noon. Dylan will be leaving to go to his Dad's around noon, and Rickey and I will be busy playing with everything Santa brings us and at some point we'll go to the movies. Night at the Museum looks cute.

We recently saw The Pursuit Of HappY*ness with Will Smith, which was really good, and Rocky 6, which was decent. I think Rickey liked it more than I did.
I've had a cold/flu-like thing since Thursday. uuuugggghhh. No energy, plus had to shop. I swear next year that I'ma get it done early in the year so I don't have to stress. Yeah. Right.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!

Almost finished remodeling the bathroom.

I haven't updated much lately and there is a major reason for it. I've been completely consumed with playing an addictive little game and I haven't been able to eat, sleep, wrap presents, or even Christmas shop.....and most importantly haven't been able to take the time to post on my blog. With great effort and extreme willpower, I have peeled myself away from this game just long enough to share it with you.

Be careful.... It eats brain cells.

Here is an example of someone who has played long enough to achieve exemplary results. The idea is to keep the little dude on the sled occupied by building him slopes to hit at the proper angle. He will die or fall into infinity unless you design properly. Must apply high school geometry.

Yes, this example is just one of many on YouTube...a real result of intense dedication.

Here is the link to the game:
Line Rider

I must go now.

I'd Gladly Walk Across The Desert
With No Shoes Upon My Feet
To Share With You The Last Bite Of Bread I Had To Eat
I Would Swim Back To Save You
In Your Sea Of Broken Dreams
When All Your Hopes Are Sinking
Let Me Show You What Love Means

Love Can Build A Bridge
Between Your Heart And Mine
Love Can Build A Bridge
Don't You Think It's Time?
Don't You Think It's Time?

I Would Whisper Love So Loudly
Every Heart Could Understand
That Love And Only Love
Can Join The Tribes Of Man
I Would Give My Heart's Desire
So That You Might See
The First Step Is To Realize
That It All Begins With You And Me

Love Can Build A Bridge
Between Your Heart And Mine
Love Can Build A Bridge
Don't You Think It's Time?
Oh, Don't You Think It's Time?

When We Stand Together
It's Our Finest Hour
We Can Do Anything, Anything
Anything, Anything
Keep Believin' In The Power

Love Can Build A Bridge
Between Your Heart And Mine
Love Can Build A Bridge
Don't You Think It's Time?

HAIKU
HAIKU

Still feeling the pain
Grief from being abandoned
Undeserved sadness

One thing comforts me
Whenever I search my heart
I know it’s not me

People I can trust
Keep telling me “Be patient”
When they see me cry

I keep erasing
Private haikus that I write
Better left unsaid

Time will keep passing
Great life experiences
That we could have shared

Hold faith in my heart
Trust in God to put things right
It’s not up to me

I discovered this free virtual makeover site today and it was so fun just playing around. Most of the hairstyles are lame, but it's still soooooo kewl. There are alot to choose from--long, medium, short, and a few celebrity hairstyles. You can play with sunglasses, glasses, hats, blush, eyeliner, lipstick, lip liner, contact lenses, and eyeshadows. You can choose the colors of your makeup and the intensity of the color, which I didn't notice until I was almost done. The fourth one on the top is really me...except for the hat.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

I have never personally seen a ghost... an alien, UFO, or other paranormal object. I've seen tons of things on TV, read, and heard plenty of stories from people throughout my life about all of the above. We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee on a mini-vacation this past summer and for fun went on a nighttime ghost walk with a tour guide. We didn't see anything weird, but she spent alot of time talking about orbs showing up on pictures. Anyway, tonight we went to a Christmas Caroling event in a historical section of a town nearby. I took pictures of the charming Christmas scenes and Victorian houses. Got home and noticed eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

I can't post pictures on here since yesterday--thanks so much Beta Blogger---and I really don't want them decorating my blog, but if you are interested in seeing them email me at sharickey2000@yahoo.com and I'll show you what we saw. eeeeeeeeeeeeek

They look similar to this google link ( "ghost orbs" search)

--see all the sites and images that come up of the same thing that is in my photos.
Is it just--um--traces of light bouncing off stuff??????????? I have no clue. It certainly gives me the creeps, though.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Tom and Katie back from the honeymoon.
Suri looks cute here. Still looks Asian. But very cute.
Here's an update on the progress of the bathroom. The tile will be done tomorrow and we can start the rest on Sunday.

Insomnia Post

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and experienced about 2 hours of insomnia.

Why am I awake?

It's too hot in here.

It's too hot to stay in the blanket or even just the sheet.
(I can't stand to be totally uncovered though, so I just leave my legs sticking out)

Two pillows are too much. (I pull one off)

One pillow is not enough. aaaaargh

Get up. Use bathroom. Check thermostat.

Maybe a glass of water.

Walk by computer, check email, ("Hey Eileen :) you did it, girl.")
Briefly surf net.

Go back to bed.

Lay there, trying to sleep. Rickey snores softly. I try to mentally allow it to sooth me. Not working.

I can't get a song out of my head... "Sleigh bells riiiiiing, are you listening?"

"In the laaaaaane, the snow is glistening...."

I turn over. Try to focus.

"A beautiful sight.
Happy tonight."

Oh, for the love of God.

"Walking in a winter wonderland."
Please

"Gone awaaaaaaay
is the bluebird."
I block it out.
"Here to staaaaaay is...."
Rickey still snoring.
I block it out

"In the meadow we can--"
no

"Build a snowman" Block it out.
Rickey still snoring

Stop snoring Rickey.
"Turn over, baby." (no change)

"Hey!" (gently shaking him)
"Turn over please!" He briefly stops, but doesn't wake up enough to turn over.

Stop snoring Rickey (it's not even that loud, just annoying enough to prevent sleep)

Gets louder.

"RICKEY!"

"What???????"

"Turn OVER. You're snoring. LOUD."

Better

"He'll say are you married, we'll say no man, but you can do the job while you're in town. "

Fine!

"Later ooooon
we'll conspiiire
as we dreeeeeeeeeeam
by the fiiire
To face
unafraid
the plans that we've made
walking in a winter wonderland

walking in a winter wonderland
walking in a winter wonderland"
