I LOVE YOU DADDY

My dad passed away. Going through a lot.

He was a radio announcer for many years and is very well known throughout a large part of the state. He was directly involved with many community outreach programs. He thoroughly dedicated his life to God the last few years of his life. He was only 66 and this was very unexpected. Many people from homeless, to senior citizens, to mayors admired my dad and experienced a side of him that was wonderful and completely genuine. I knew all of him. We were estranged, but that never stopped my love for him. I would give anything for one more hug. Here is a poem that was read during his eulogy at his memorial service. He wrote it and had given it to his pastor.

God Son

I am the whispering round the roof top,
The wind wail in the pine
The breeze that blows within you
Cross the canyons in the mind

I am the stuff that dreams are made of
The hope that all must share
I am the cold December snow song
As it chills the still night air

I am today into the future
And the years now slipped behind
I am from One who made you seeking
and the One who you must find.
I am the reason that we come to,
When we try to understand
First the Reason, then the Season
Sent from Father, spent for man.

Sorry for your loss Shari. He sounds like he was a nice guy.

Hope your getting through this time of grieving okay.

I think I need to make a call to my dad.
