Out of the blue Rickey's 16 year old daughter, who lives in Texas, who he hasn't seen since she was a baby (long story) announced that she would be staying with us over the summer.
Out. Of. The. Blue. (yet thoroughly a supreme opportunity that needed to be seized upon)
Household projects halted. Hasty arrangements. Scrambling for plane ticket.

You're right. Totally great opportunity to...I don't know...forge a new relationship? Help influence a young person? Connect with someone? Whatever it is, it's a great opportunity for it.

She has pink in her hair! I am so jealous! :) If I had the nerve I'd get some pink streaks . . . but I don't have the nerve. Oh well . . . tell her I dig her hair!
