A Peek

It is sometimes so tempting to use this as a confessional, while at the same time so completely difficult for me to do. I am not at my most empowered and confident self right now, due to circumstances in my life. Rather than write specifics, I'm going to try to express some things I am feeling.
Taken for granted
Not held in high enough regard
Not cherished
Like the spirit-filled cup of energy that pours from me is readily depended on and drank from, but not truly appreciated or returned in kind
Thirsty
Lonely
Wistful
Hopeful
Fearful
Prayerful
Bored
Unfulfilled
I don't always feel this way, so please don't think that this sums up my life. Just a part. Right now.
I have wavered at even posting this, but I am going to. I'm human. I know we all go through phases of it all.
I don't like to be negative or too vulnerable on here. I like this place to be an upbeat cheerful place to visit, so I may choose to delete this post. Or not.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

I want to wish everyone a Merry and Blessed Christmas!
Here is a small gift :)

My internet was down until yesterday due to an ice storm. Power lines, traffic lights, trees, etc. fell down on roads and made for several days of "roughing it" for many people. Our electricity was only out for twelve hours, but there were many people and places of business that had no power for three days.
I missed blogging, and checking on my fellow bloggers!

The Display

Many of us in blogland that have a blog, use it somewhat as a personal journal, while at the same time are fully aware it is a window for others to peek into. It is appealing to put yourself -or part of- yourself "out there" for others to connect with, and hopefully support you in whatever it is you choose to put on display. It is limiting for me at times, though, because it isn't possible to really be as open as I could and sometimes want to be. Sometimes fearing judgment inhibits you from fully expressing things you may, although I also feel that when we do truly open up, it allows others to relate to the human condition in all of us.
Also, there are the dangerous aspects of not really knowing who may be reading...details you must be careful not to inadvertently post...anyway, that being said, my Question of the day is: Do you run into these feelings at times?

I am experiencing a lack of inspiration on what to write about......yeah...a case of "bloggers block". Not serious.

Quotes

In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Probably the happiest period in life most frequently is in middle age, when the eager passions of youth are cooled, and the infirmities of age not yet begun; as we see that the shadows, which are at morning and evening so large, almost entirely disappear at midday.

-EleanorRoosevelt

Many times I've stumbled upon quotes of hers that I admire. I am planning to read her autobiography and other books she wrote. There were four: This is My Story (1937); This I Remember (1950); On My Own (1958); and Tomorrow Is Now (published in 1963 after her death).
